Can the nutricosmetic market finally crack the US?

Despite trending high with European and Japanese consumers, the US market for nutricosmetics has always trailed, although North American consumers are now noticing convenient functional food, beverage and supplements with beauty from within benefits.

This trend prevails as consumers realize that a healthy diet and clinically tested skin care formulas are not enough to win the anti-aging battle, according to a global nutricosmetics consultant.

Paula Simpson states, “nutricosmetics are essentially a hybrid between personal care, nutrition and nutraceuticals.”

“Unlike topical interventions, efficacious oral formulations may work systemically to promote optimal skin cellular turnover and support immune defense against primary stressors that can damage and prematurely age the skin.”
