Keranique launches hair care kit containing only FDA-approved regrowth ingredient

Hair care company Keranique has introduced its first hair care line aimed at thickening women’s hair and encouraging regrowth, containing the FDA approved ingredient minoxidil.

Minoxidil is a medication which slows or stops hair loss and promotes hair regrowth, available over-the-counter for the treatment of androgenic alopecia.

Over-the-counter

It is marketed in products such as Rogaine, and must be used indefinitely for continued support of existing hair follicles and the maintenance of any experienced hair regrowth.

Keranique’s new ‘hair solutions’ kit provides consumers with its hair regrowth treatment, which contains 2 percent minoxidil, which is the only OTC ingredient on the market that is approved by the FDA for regrowing hair.

The minoxidil-containing treatment is one part of the ‘kit’, which the company claims is designed to help women achieve thicker, fuller looking hair.

According to the makers of Keranique, the problem of thinning hair is often different for men and women, and the most effective products are formulated with those differences in mind.

Targeting women

Developed specifically for women, Keranique's system offers a multi-faceted approach designed to help women achieve thicker and fuller hair.

It includes a shampoo, meant to visibly thicken, cleanse and revitalize hair; a conditioner, designed to add volume and strength; an intensive scalp treatment, formulated to optimize the environment to improve the appearance of hair in just 8 days; and a follicle-boosting serum, made to provide thicker-looking hair.

Keranique also claims these products are pH-balanced and sulfate-free, and help protect hair from humidity and the heat given off by styling products.

The kit comes with the claim that it will not only make a woman's hair fuller and more voluminous, but that it will ultimately make hair easier to manage and to work with.
