Ultrasound beauty device claims to be first to combine two topical products
JeNu Biosciences claims to be the first company in the world to launch a beauty device that combines ultrasound technology with two different anti-aging formulations.
JeNu’s system combines a professional handheld ultrasound wand with two different topical treatments combining specially developed microspheres, which is claimed to deliver 12 times the amount of active ingredients into the skin compared to regular topical application.
Device enhances formulation efficacy
The manufacturer claims that the wand enables the key anti-aging ingredients contained in the formulations to permeate and be absorbed by the skin, resulting in a far more effective result.
The complete kit includes the ultrasound wand, together with one formulation designed to target signs of aging around the eyes, and the other formulated to be effective in treating signs of aging such as crows’ feet around the eyes.
"With the increasing consumer demand for at-home devices, the growth potential for clinically proven and validated devices is tremendous. JeNu will dramatically change the way users look and feel about their skin this year," said Colette Courtion, founder of Calidora Skin Clinics,
Clinical trial results key to growth potential
According to the company’s clinical trial results, in just two weeks, 100 percent of clinical study participants showed up to a 45 percent decrease in wrinkles and fine lines and a 92 percent increase in hydration.
The Active-Youth Eye treatment and microsphere technology includes vitamins A and C, matrixyl and hyaluronic acid to target wrinkles when used with the wand, while the formula also hydrates, targets dark circles and puffiness.
The Active-Youth Serum with microsphere technology contains vitamins A and E, together with olive and grapeseed extracts the active ingredient Volulip to plump the lips, whilst also serving to hydrate, refine and smooth lip texture.
Beauty devices begin to transform the skin care category
According to the latest research from ‘Diagonal Report’, the success of beauty devices have created a mega category and are transforming the skincare market, particularly in the US, China and Europe.
The market researcher also says that beauty devices are now shaping a distinctive beauty culture and expectations and are creating new standards in skincare.
While the general consensus is that the quality of the technology is evolving to provide professional standards, particularly in skincare, likewise many experts are predicting that combination device and formulation therapies will soon be commonplace on the market.
Fellow market researcher Global Industry Analysts has shown that the beauty device category will rack up an estimated 600 million units of beauty and personal care devices manufactured by the year 2018.
