In a bid to meet escalating demand, in particular from Central and Eastern European markets, direct seller Oriflame Cosmetics has acquired a toiletries and fragrances production facility in Ekerö, Sweden from Swedish company Nordium.

Located just outside of Stockholm, the 19,000-m2 plant was purchased by Nordium in 1997 from Henkel Nordic.

Confirming that the acquisition was line in with the Oriflame's production strategy, Sven Mattsson, CEO of the Swedish company Oriflame commented:" in our Central and Eastern European markets we have been experiencing strong growth in demand. This acquisition will give us greater control over our production and product development in these fast-growing segments."

Mattsson is optimistic that the acquisition will have a positive net effect on the company's profit after taxes as early as this year.
