Valentino will regain control from Unilever Cosmetics International (UCI) of the brand's line of fragrances.

The move is a further step in Valentino's renegotiation strategy following its acquisition by the Marzotto Group in 2002.

The current licensing agreement between Valentino and Unilever started in the 1980s. The companies' long-term partnership resulted in a series of fragrances including Valentino, Very Valentino, Vendetta, and, more recently, Valentino Gold, establishing both Valentino and UCI as players in the luxury fragrance business.
