Schwarzkopf gels with Bramlage creation

RPC Bramlage has developed a custom-designed jar for cosmetics manufacturer Schwarzkopf-Henkel's new Taft Fixing hair gel. Combining speed and quality, the new jar was apparently ready for production just 13 weeks after initial drawings were prepared.

RPC Bramlage has developed a custom-designed jar for cosmetics manufacturer Schwarzkopf-Henkel's latest edition to its Taft range, the new Taft Fixing hair gel.

The new injection-moulded 200ml jar features a double-walled design to enhance its appearance that consists of a translucent blue outer layer in Polystyrene (PS) and a transparent inner layer in Polypropylene (PP). The lid, in silver PP, features a stacking rim designed for convenient storage.

The final design aims to create a distinctive impression on-shelf while the transparent blue finish matches other products in the Taft range to maintain a strong family image, said the company this week.

"We wanted a jar design that would both complement existing Taft products and stand out on the shelf," commented Markus Danne, packaging manager at International Packaging Development of Schwarzkopf-Henkel.

The jar also has front and reverse adhesive labels, and a promotional top label on the lid, all of which are added after moulding by RPC Bramlage.

"Not only is RPC Bramlage's contribution exactly what we were looking for, but the company was able to provide the jar quickly without compromising on quality," added Danne. Referring to the quick 13 week turnaround from initial drawings to finished product.

Taft Fixing gel will be launched initially in Italy, with European-wide distribution to follow.
