magazine and Chain Drug Review magazine.
Manufacturer of Olay Vitamins, California-based Pharmavite, announced that this innovative vitamin line for women garnered top honors from the retail and licensing industries this month.
"We're thrilled with this honor and thank Procter & Gamble for trusting us with this incredible brand," said Pharmavite senior product manager Barbara Lindquist.
Pharmavite licensed the Olay brand from Procter & Gamble last April to create Olay Vitamins, a line of vitamins designed to address a woman's inner health and outer beauty needs.
Earlier this month, the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association (LIMA) honoured Olay Vitamins by awarding it the top award, 2003 Best Corporate Brand Licence of the Year at the 20th annual LIMA Awards Gala. The award recognises licensing excellence, creativity and innovation in the corporate brand category.
Pharmavite's vice president for business development Tom Zimmerman said: "Winning top honours from the licensing community is a great achievement. We're proud of our contribution to this award-winning vitamin line that really resonates with women."
Speaking of behalf of Procter & Gamble, director of external business development Steve Baggott added: "This was the first licensing initiative for the Olay brand, and it has received a strong, positive retailer and consumer response. We appreciate the membership of LIMA recognising this programme with this Licensing Excellence Award."
Added Nell Roney, executive vice president, Nancy Bailey & Associates, Inc., "Olay's skin care and beauty equity comes through loud and clear throughout the products, packaging, marketing and promotional materials making it seamless to the consumer. Pharmavite embraced the brand and the 'beauty from within' concept immediately and translated it into the perfect brand extension program."Olay Vitamins is the only affordably priced line designed exclusively for women to address both their inner health and outer beauty needs, and is available at U.S. mass market retailers. The suggested retail price for OLAY Vitamins ranges from $7.99 to $24.99.
