New cartoner launched in UK

In the UK, Isopak has launched a new vertical cartoning machine that is designed for use in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

The Vertipak is manufactured by V2 Engineering and is an in-line machine that has an assembling capability of up to 60 cartons per minute.

Isopak is the sole distributor of the machine for the UK market, and says that the product's key features include a balcony construction which provides an easily accessible loading area, an adaptable design that can handle a variety of shapes and sizes.

The Vertipak "can be applied to everything between 50mm in length to 200mm, with applications ranging from toothpaste boxes to moisturiser cartons," said Isopak.

It operates by feeding the unopened packs through horizontal magazine holdings, which then passes the carton down into a vertical position onto the toothed belts. As they are transported down the conveyor, the Vertipak's belts have been designed to protect the product from slippage and damage caused by the usual friction between the cartons and guides.

The Vertipak has a mono-bloc design to allow the machine to be moved around easily - and this is one feature that sets it apart from its main competitors, according to Isopak managing director Robin Davies.

A transport belt, connecting the erecting and closing elements, allows the cartons to be manually loaded or packed by auto feeders, which can be permanent or wheeled in and out as required. Being mounted on belts, the machine is noiseless and maintenance is reduced.

"The Vertipak is way ahead of any other comparable machine, in terms of adaptability, performance and maintenance," claims Davies.

V2 Engineering is an Italian company that manufactures a variety of packing machines, from carton erectors and closers to horizontal and vertical cartoning machines.
