P&G has launched new Always Ultra & Freshelle, a combination of an Always Ultra pad and a new individually packed Freshelle intimate wipe, attached to the pad. P&G has chosen the patented Amcor EasyPack for the pocket pack wipes, which aim to provide women with handling convenience.
Dr Brigitte Nijs, P&G's Section Head Research & Development FemCare EMEA says: "With this joint wipe sachet development between P&G and Amcor Flexibles, we agreed on co-marketing the wet wipe sachet, printing Amcor EasyPack next to the P&G product branding as well as giving Amcor's details on the sachet."
Amcor EasyPack is an envelope sachet configuration composed of special peelable laminate poly-layers, aimed at practical consumer handling convenience. A peelable, airtight envelope lapseal is achieved between coextruded OPP and a special PE developed by Amcor Flexibles. The easy-open feature is built into the laminate without the need to use extra material and the overlap seal peels away easily when pulled.
The Amcor EasyPack laminate for the wipe sachet includes an Alufoil layer to ensure the barrier properties required by the product. The sinner peelable PE layer is supplied by Amcor Flexibles Extrusion UK. The outer BOPP layer is reverse printed (6 colours gravure) by Amcor Flexibles Tobepal in Spain.
Amcor has built its name mainly from plastics packaging and has a division devoted to PET bottling. In Europe it is the leading flexible packaging business with annual sales of over €1.5 billion and manufacturing operations in 15 countries.
