Ileos launches cosmetic packaging innovations

France-based Ileos is unveiling a string of eye-catching solutions for folding cartons in the beauty and perfumery sector to be unveiled at the forthcoming Interpack show, reports Simon Pitman.

The company is tapping into a trend whereby fragrance and cosmetics manufacturers are looking for increasingly sophisticated and innovative packaging solutions in a bid to draw customers attention to their products in this relentlessly competitive segment.

One of the key launches Ileos will be unveiling at the show, held in Dusseldorf, Germany, 21-27 April, is a new anti-counterfeiting system which is said to bring new functionality to folding boxes.

In its effort to muscle in on this segment, Ileos has signed a partnership with ATT, a leader in numerical safety applied to brands for protection. As a result Ileos now offers the ATT developed system integrated in the fabrication process for the folded box.

This system has been designed to provide high security solutions aimed at fighting against counterfeiting and at mastering distribution ways. This means that products can be tracked and logistics can be fine tuned to allow for increased efficiency.

Another new solution is Alliora, which creates boxes using a lenticular imaging technique that enables the inclusing of short video-like sequences on the packaging in an effort to draw more attention to the product and its claims.

The company will also be unveiling Fluo Inks, which aim to give a more impactful effect providing greater contrasts between the inside and the outside of the packaging. The technology means that the packaging can be developed with more sophisticated decorations enhanced by precision and a glossy effect.

Besides its new product innovations, the company will also be using the show to explain about the company's new corporate structure, which now include a group of six divisions.
