Denmark-based Superfos says that the new alternative presents marketers of a host of personal care and toiletry products with a new packaging named SuperLock that has also been designed to give increased security as well as product quality.
Distinct to the new SuperLock is the lock mechanism based on an easy open andclose liquid tight twist system that the company says guarantees higher product safety and quality.
By twisting the lid 60°, the sealing ring comes off and lets out an airtight sound as thetamper evident band is broken. Furthermore, the company says that when the pot is correctly re-closed anaudible click provides an sensory guarantee of efficient re-closure.
The packaging also offers transparency at the same level as glass as well as providing optionsfor sharp graphics of high quality, while at the same time having all theadvantages of plastic packaging. The result, Superfos says, is an aesthetical and functional pack thatoffers companies an option to market their productsin quality packaging that is light, flexible and easier to transport.
"SuperLock is a landmark in the battle to break traditional perception and use of plasticpackaging by focusing on strong design and unique features in our productdevelopment," said sales and marketing directory Martin Malmos. "Our customers and consumers benefit from the advantages ofplastic, while at the same time getting a package with the feel and look of glass.
"Plastic is a modern material suitable for global brands and the modern consumers'demands for product safety and quality. It is liquid tight and there is no risk of glasscontamination in the end product. Furthermore, it is a lighter product which stacks welland is unbreakable. All together, this makes production less noisy than that of glass andhandling and transportation of the product easier, safer and more environmentallycorrect."
SuperLock received a WorldStar Award 2004 for a design solution thatcompetes directly with glass packaging.
