The company says that the new design for the compact features softer, rounded curves to replace the predominantly square shape of the previous packs and create a more feminine image and a more modern look.
Working closely with its masterbatch suppliers, RPC says it has achieved a deeper pearlescent finish to enhance overall pack appearance and maintain a distinct identity for the Colour range.
The company is supplying a variety of packs including medium compacts in two and three compartment versions, large compact, small jars and slimline lipsticks and eye pencils.
In addition to the main Colour range, produced in pearlescent blue, three packs - a Face Pearls jar, Press Powder compact and Slimline Pencil - are being produced in pearlescent bronze for the Arabian Glow range extension.
Among the pack designs is a special three layer 'Cream to Powder' compact with a hinged centre section. The company says that it added special ventilation holes created underneath the hinge to allow the applicator, which is held in its own compartment, to dry between uses.
This compares to designs where ventilation is in the base of the pack, which can create potential problems with product leakage from the applicator.
The packs are produced in a number of materials including ABS/SAN mix, polypropylene and general purpose polystyrene, which the company says was selected for its aesthetic performance in delivering the required combination of style, practicality and durability.
RPC added that the magnitude and importance of the contract with Avon meant that it has established a dedicated manufacturing cell at its Teesside factory to ensure quality and delivery times.
