Crown twins up Jean Paul Gaultier fragrances

Crown Specialty Packaging has devised an advanced decorative perforation method for the metal packaging used to pair up combinations of the company's individual fragrance ranges.

The promotional packaging will be used to promote paired combinations of the company's Le Male and Classique fragrance ranges, launched in time for the coming Christmas season - a period when the vast majority of fragrance sales are achieved.

The 140 mm X 200mm cylindrical tins feature asymmetrical perforation designs that incorporate a Christmas theme. Crown says that to achieve the required design, it printed and manufactured tins with four different sizes of hole, ranging from 0.7mm to 1.5mm in diameter.

This effect is completed by being double side printed on both the can body and end, an effect that is said to evoke a premium look. It is finished in a choice of colors, including pink, blue, silver and gold, with a matte finish, and trademark colors according to the featured fragrance.

JPG Classique and Le Male collections are female- and male-dedicated products respectively. The idea behind the promotional packaging is that it can combine any combination of products, according to individual tastes.

JPG has had a number of campaigns in the past, promoting the products together, with the aim of consumers making a combined purchase for a Christmas gift or a wedding present.

"The package is creating a stir on store shelves and will continue to promote the Jean Paul Gaultier brand for years to come, as consumers reuse the branded tin for storage or even as a candle holder." said Cédric Cantin, sales manager at Crown Speciality Packaging, a part of Crown Holdings.
