The shows include the International Esthetics, Cosmetics & Spa Conference (IECSC), which is held as separate events in Las Vegas and Orlando, and the Las Vegas Hair & Nail conference were bought from Show Management for an undisclosed sum.
The IECSC events were founded in 1992 by Magda Fitcher and have become the become the world's largest professional esthetics, cosmetics and spa conference and event.
It has grown to serve more than 1,500 exhibitors and over 65,000 attendees and is held annually, while the Las Vegas Hair and Nail conference is also held annually, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Questex says that the events will be integrated into the its Beauty Group, which currently includes American Spa magazine, Medical Spa Report, American Spa Expo, American Salon magazine, and the International Beauty Show (IBS New York).
"This acquisition brings together two strong, well-positioned event and media portfolios serving the beauty and spa markets," said Kerry Gumas, President & CEO of Questex Media Group.
Gumas added that the company intended to work with the existing Show management team to develop the quality of the even as well as expanding the marketing and associated professional services for the spa and beauty markets.
Questex has actually been serving the spa and beauty industry with print and other media support for over 100 years, a position the current acquisition will allow the company to build upon.
As well as the beauty industry it also provides media support to other industries, including travel, leisure, home entertainment and technology.
