Rexam create all transparent pump systems

Rexam Dispensing Systems is going for total invisibility in all of its pump fragrance dispensers, a feat that was previously outlined as a key goal in the companies product development strategies.

With the design of the new invisible dip tube, the company has now completely replaced all of the traditional metal balls from its pump motors and has extended transparency to all of its fragrance dispenser ranges.

UK-based Rexam's core business is aluminum beverage cans, but in recent years it has done much to build on its beauty business portfolio, with this latest development looking set to help this ambition.

The company states that 'the new invisible dip tube meets the light refraction index optical properties that make it virtually undetectable when in contact with fragrance.'

Following this Rexam also suggested that the design, launched earlier this year at the New York Luxe Pack Trade Show, will create greater design flexibility for the creators of fragrances, stating that the system means that designers can now work with clear space, free of any restraint.

The company said that the dip tube can be fitted to all of its pump motors, SP6, SP7, SP8, LPP and SLPP, in turn offering many different options for fragrance bottle sizes.

Rexam is one of the leading consumer packaging groups with ongoing global sales of £3.4 bn. A report earlier this year showing how the company's Plastic Packaging results, which incorporate the company's beauty packaging operation, were substantially up on the equivalent period from last year, benefiting from organic profit growth and acquisitions.

However, the company said that Beauty packaging operations continued to be affected by delays in the launch of new products, though it is optimistic about the success of future product launches counteracting these figures in the latter half of this year.
