Conference focuses on skin ageing and oxidative stress
ageing, the French Society of Antioxidants is holding a fourth
conference in Paris, 22-23 November, entitled Ageing Signs and
Oxidative Stress, which will specifically consider applications for
antioxidants in both cosmetics and foods.
Following on from the themes of the three previous conferences, the SFA has invited a series of skin ageing specialists from both industrial and academic backgrounds to speak at the event in an effort to discuss the latest advances with regards skin ageing in their respective fields.
The SFA says that for this year's event its Scientific Committee wanted to approach specific areas relating to antioxidants and skin ageing, including the latest research and development within the domain, the latest advances in the nutricosmetics area and the latest ingredients to tackle oxidative stress.
The conference will also be looking at the link between reactive types of oxygen (ROS), stress oxidizers and skin ageing, as well as presenting different mechanisms exploring the relationship between free radicals and ROS with regards the skin ageing process.
More specifically, the lectures will also be touching on specific areas of scientific research that are helping scientists and skin experts to understand the skin ageing process.
This will see the lectures touching on areas such as the role of mitochondria and ubiquitin-proteasomes in the skin ageing process, the use of iron chelators to improve UV skin protection and protect form oxidative stress, the use of nanotechnology in skin care formulas and the quantification of collagen and elastin levels through new laser methods.
Key speakers will include Dr Marvin Edeas, Dr Johannes Koehler, Dr Oliver Sorg, Dr Charareh Pourzan and Pr. Bertrand Friguet, who will represent companies and scientific institutions from all over Europe.
The SFA says that attendance of the two day conference will cost €930 plus tax for SFA members and €1070 plus tax for non-members, whilst all presentations for the programme will also be available in Powerpoint form at a price of $398 plus tax.
