The formula is made up of four homeopathic ingredients, which the company started to incorporate it into a few skin care ranges last year as an anti-aging ingredient.
Bob Sidell, founder and president of the company said, "As a company, we have been using homeopathic ingredients for 15 years, but we wanted to capture the best of the best in a synergistic combination".
The company has developed the formula over a number of years with a French pharmaceutical company that specialized in homeopathic medicines. They utilized medicines that were used by ancient Greek and Chinese civilizations in order to treat damaged, weathered and aging skin. Therefore targeting the fast growing anti-aging market.
Currently the global anti-aging market is estimated to be worth approximately $50 billion dollars, a figure that is expected to hit $56 billion by 2007 - growth that many analysts believe will continue at break-neck speed in coming years.
The Biohexel blend is made up of ingredients that have formerly been used as an active remedy for organ and tissue issues, including: Abrotanum, Selenium Metallicum, Thuja Occidentalis and Arsenicum Album.
The formula has been used previously in some of the company's many products. However, after a positive response following consumer tests they decided to incorporate it into more beauty lines.
"Because of the huge consumer response to BioHexel in DuoMasque and SilkSkin Intensive Treatment, we have now added BioHexel to our SilkSkin Moisturizing Emollient." Sidell said.
He added that the ingredients in the formula are not only beneficial for anti-aging but also age spots, loss of firmness, freckles and acne. According to a medical journal it also has additional benefits to skin treatments, such as being a useful remedy for atrophy, malnutrition and rheumatism.
Because of this broad based functionality the company has trademarked the formula following FDA-approval and plan to incorporate it into 'a number of other existing and new products'.
