The products have previously only been available in Australia but are now being retailed in the US market and the range will include only handmade and chemical free products.
Dee Light, Director of Gorgeous Business, told CosmeticsDesign "We are not driven to expand into huge companies, we are primarily driven to tell the truth in an industry where spin provides the perfect illusion. We do not therefore approach our placement or marketing with statistics, forward projections etc, we do not have to. We work on personal relationships as we have done for years."
Chemical free products are a globally booming industry. Therefore the Gorgeous range is targeting a growing niche and will aim to reap the benefits of the mounting consumer demand for natural products.
A spokesperson for Gorgeous Business stated that 'All Gorgeous products are hand-blended and pure, containing no water, no petroleum byproducts and no unwanted chemicals. They are 100 per cent Pure'.
As the products are only available through an online US retailer, by launching the product in November the company is also targeting the online shopping phenomenon that looks set to hit an all time high this 2006 holiday season.
Market research company Jupiter Research stated that 'All indicators point to holiday 2006 being the biggest season yet for online shopping'.
The research showed that consumers will spend a massive $274 million in online purchases this holiday season, a $264 million increase from the comparable season in 2005, which only saw sales reach the $10 million mark.
The Gorgeous products are entirely hand made and contain 100 per cent pure and natural oils, sourced from countries such as Bulgaria and Turkey. One product in the range, Over One Hundred Bunches of Real Roses in a Bottle Double Blended Serum, uses pure and natural rose oil, which requires the use of over 100 roses.
Light said "We've researched the market for over two years now, and there is no product like ours simply because there isn't enough rose oil of this quantity to go round,".
The products are being retailed in the US through online apothecary store, Alchemist Apprentice.com which sells exclusively synthetic and chemical-free personal care products and The Gorgeous range will retail from $59 to $350.
"We do not make any anti wrinkle claims, not because we can't but because it is demeaning and insulting to women. The Australian industry does not fully understand our point of difference nor appreciate what we do, so we have decided to look further a field," Light said.
