Innovative machine creates home-made cosmetics

The latest cosmetics innovation from Italy allows consumers to
develop and manufacture their own beauty and skin care products
from the comfort of their home - a move that may cause concern
amongst manufacturers should consumers pick up on the trend.

The 'do-it-yourself' cosmetics machine, MyBeautyFarm , is said to be the first machine of its kind that offers consumers a cheaper, safer option to regular cosmetic products, which they can make themselves.

A spokesperson for the company stated, " MyBeautyFarm is the miniature reproduction of an industrial machine used to produce cosmetics.

It mixes, heats and cools thanks to its use of sophisticated technology ".

" It allows the consumer to create their own skin care creams, shampoos, bubble baths, liquid soaps and hair conditioners in a matter of minutes, which are free of preservatives, colouring agents and fragrances".

Convenience purchasing is increasingly becoming a main priority for consumers, with internet sales reaching unprecedented heights last year, therefore manufacturers may be wise to be wary of the emerging trend for home-made cosmetics that can be made for half the price of in-store products.

Patented in Italy, the products unique technology allows consumers to replicate the manufacturing processes of a cosmetics factory - but in smaller quantities.

Picking up on the booming trend for natural and organic cosmetic ingredients, the manual for the machine actively promotes the use of fruit within cosmetics, including grape, melon, kiwi, peach and apricot extracts.

Accompanied with a formulation guide and the main cosmetic formulation for each different product, the spokesperson stated, " Using natural, safe ingredients gives you the guarantee of a truly natural cosmetics product.

The proposed formulas are safe, effective and guaranteed by our laboratories, which have been producing cosmetics that are sold throughout Europe for over 20 years".

Each face and body formula provided with the machine has been tested and ICEA-approved and can be made into a finished product with 30 minutes.

However, despite the consumer having a large choice over what natural extracts they include in the manufacturing, the actual cosmetic formulas have to be purchased through the MyBeautyFarm company, therefore ensuring 'in-house' purchasing and limiting creative freedom.

The formulations supplied are said to be able to make anti-aging face creams and moisturising body creams that aid body imperfections such as cellulite, fat and sagging skin.

The company is currently searching for global distributors and has suggested that the machine could be used at home, in cosmetic laboratories and in pharmacies.
