First Natural acquires essential oils cosmetics company
company, in a bid to move the company forward in the booming
organic skin care market.
Already a market leader in the aromatherapy and essential oils industry, FNL has stated that its aim is to consolidate and expand Tisserand's brand portfolio.
Spokesperson for FNL, Robin Russell stated, " We have been working together for some time on many projects and still have a lot to do, but I believe that the results of those efforts will hit the market".
The company plans to extend it's presence across the organic sector by improving ingredients, increasing focus on the requirements of Tisserand's main target audience, and by developing a stronger communications package.
At the time of the acquisition, the company said that it was hoping to expand into the fast growing market for natural and organic personal care products in the UK - a relatively new sector of the personal care industry for the company.
Significant progress in recent years has made the UK the leading such market in Europe, with Organic Montior estimating that sales of natural and organic personal care products doubled between 2002 and 2005 in the UK, with annual sales expected to top €200m in 2007.
Furthermore the impressive growth figures have led Organic Monitor to suggest that the increased focus on naturals and organics will be a major growth driver for Tisserand.
The company is set to gain momentum in this market by drawing on First Natural's expertise in the personal care industry and its strong infrastructure.
It will focus on developing products that target the environmentally friendly consumer.
The founder of Tisserand, Robert Tisserand, will continue to play a large role in the company.
He will work as a consultant, giving advice on essentials oils the purity of the products.
