The international company specializes in silicon based technologies for a wide range of industries, including the cosmetics and personal care industries, and the automotive, aeronautical and electrical industries.
The new products add to two existing cosmetics powders to complete the range which the company claims will give a broad range of formulating options for the manufacturer.
The new powders have been designed to enhance manufacturer's formulations by providing unique textures and sensory experiences, optical effects, compaction aid and powder flow, sebum and oil absorbance, and thickening properties.
According to the company the release is in response to consumer demand for products that give multifunctional benefits such as innovative textures and novel visual effects.
The new range of cosmetics powders should allow manufacturers to meet this unmet need as well as providing the benefits of silicone powder technology such as improved powder compaction and improved coverage effects, explained the company.
The cosmetics powders can be used in a wide range of both skin care and color cosmetics formulations, such as cleansers, exfoliation products, sun care products, foundations, eye shadows, blushes and nail polishes.
The main benefit to the powders is their multifunctionality.
For example, the Dow Corning EP-9261 T1 provides a smooth, powdery, non greasy feel, high sebum absorption as well as improving SPF.
According to the company it also facilitates product compaction and thickening.
Dow Corning provide a range of silicone based solutions for the color cosmetics industry, with products that claim to enhance color radiance enabling a smaller use of pigment, enhance the resistance of products and mask wrinkles.
