Known as Swarovski Beauty, the line will include fragrances, make-up and a beauty accessories collection that will incorporate the fragrance, cosmetic and packaging design capabilities of Clarins-owned Thierry Mugler with the precision-cut crystal expertise that Austrian-based Swarovski is renowned for. With a launch date planned for 2010, the two companies will work together to develop the high-end beauty products that will incorporate Swarovski's crystal expertise into the packaging design. Range to be sold in high-end stores worldwide The companies say that the range will be distributed in selective perfumeries, prestige department stores and Swarovski stores worldwide. The beauty line will tap into both Thierry Mugler's reputation for high-end beauty products, as well as Swarovski's reputation for premium cut glass products, which, when combined, aims to provide a premium line that combines two high end brand names. Likewise, the collaboration on the packaging design is expected to produce a line of beauty products that will be differentiated by the incorporation of crystal, further enhancing its up-market positioning. Move builds on previous collaboration The two companies already have one collaboration in the beauty arena under their belt, having developed a range called Angel, 15 years ago. "In this project wae have found a family-owned partner that shares our philosophy and one we are convinced will join with us to make Swarovski Beauty a luxury brand to be proud of," said Markus Langes-Swarovski, executive board member for Swarovski.
