Eveline signs North American distribution deal

Poland cosmetics player Eveline Cosmetics has signed a distribution deal to with ProConcepts Marketing to expand into the US, Canadian and Mexican markets.

The deal will also see ProConcepts playing a significant role in developing Eveline's existing $1m annual internet sales in the new markets it is entering into.

As well as the internet channels and the development of the North American market, ProConcepts will also be helping Eveline to develop its product distribution in the Caribbean markets of Barbados, Jamaica, Bahamas and Turks and Caicos, together with Africa.

One of the largest players in Poland Eveline is one Poland's largest cosmetics manufacturers, helped by the fact that it has expanded significantly overseas in recent years - now being present in 45 countries.

By concentrating on further expanding its footprint in international markets, Eveline is hoping to maintain its strong growth rate of recent years.

Initially the distribution will be targeting the market with the biggest potential - the US, where it will focus on internet channels, electronic media department stores and boutique salons.

Targeting future US growth The focus on the US market aims at tapping into growth in the cosmetics market that is predicted to exceed 10 per cent in the next two years, valuing it at $39bn by 2010, according to ProConcepts.

Eveline says that it is targeting a wide spectrum of categories at the US market; both for men and women, as well lines that will be suited to low-end and high-end stores, together with premium products suited to boutique spas.

Indeed the move also strikes a significant opportunity for ProConcepts to expand its marketing business into the cosmetics and personal care arena.

"ProConcepts is positioning itself to partner with global leaders in business," said company CEO Joel Stohlman.

"This exclusive contract will allow us to be a player in the multi-billion dollar cosmetics market, in the United States and in exclusive territories."
