HBA Awards highlight a year of innovation
Held at the Marriott Hotel, in New York City on Tuesday evening, 600 beauty industry executives attended the event, which was also filmed by the CosmeticsDesign team.
The filming included key face-to-face interviews with two of the leading honorees at the awards – Catherine Walsh, senior vice president of American fragances for Coty, the largest fragrance maker in the world, and David Prague vice president of CPD Packaging at L'Oreal USA.
Marketing executive of the year
Catherine Walsh was honored with marketing executive of the year, an award she was nominated for by her colleagues and peers in the cosmetics and fragrance industry.
In her interview with CosmeticsDesign, which will be published on the website as a video podcast in the course of the next week, Walsh said that it was the hard work of her team that had helped her achieve the award.
Likewise, David Prague was given the packaging executive of the year award, a prize he said he was very proud to be honored with and which was one of the highlights of his career to date.

This interview will also be published as a video podcast on the website, alongside a host of other face-to-face interviews that were filmed by the CosmeticsDesign team at the HBA event, including leading executives from key players such as Estee Lauder, LVMH, Helix Biomedics and the Fragrance Foundation.
Other award recipients included Robert Pierce, vice president of global R&D for Colgate Palmolive, who was honored for product development executive of the year.
Another key category was new product R&D technical team of the year, which was awarded to the newly launched Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting cream.
Awards were also given for the best international technology, which went to Symrise and Cutech, best new technology launch to Sederma and the recognizing creativity award to Korres.
