The Germany-based company has added a conditioning agent for skin and hair care and a biopolymer for skin protection to its portfolio.
Conditioning agent
ABIL T Quat 60 is a silicone conditioning agent designed for use in shampoos, hair rinses, balms, body washes and leave-in formulations.
According to the company, the ingredient has good conditioning properties and can help protect against heat.
In addition, when used as part of a surfactant formulation the ingredient has a reduced thinning effect when compared to the standard silicone derivatives.
This leads to an improvement in the foaming properties of the formulation as well as providing a superior skin feel, the company maintains.
Skin protection
The second of the ingredients showcased at the event in Bangkok joins the company’s Tego range.
Tego is the company’s natural portfolio and the new ingredient Tego Cosmo LSG is a natural, beta-glucan biopolymer.
The ingredient has soothing properties and positive effects on the skin barrier making it ideal for skin protection products, according to the company.
In keeping with the rest of the Tego range, Cosmo LSG is biodegradable and non-toxic.
This addition follows shortly after the ingredient Tego Cosmo PGA joined the range. The ingredient, gamma polyglutamic acid, is based on a soybean extract and promises good moisturising properties for cosmetics products.
