MensMax has published the results of research suggesting that more and more men are ranking penis skin care as important.
In a survey of 100 American men, the company claimed that 23 percent considered penis skin care an important part of their daily routine compared to 16 percent in similar research last year.
Daily bombardment of stresses
MensMax, the manufacturer of the penis moisturizer RestoreMax, said a variety of complaints associated with the stresses and strains of modern life lay behind the trend.
Chemicals found in latex condoms, lubricants and spermicidal creams were all reported to have the potential to produce reactive and irritating effects.
Other environmental factors such as the confinement and excess heat generated from tight pants were mentioned as causes of dryness.
Reasons for turning to penis skin care do not stop there. MensMax said sexual intercourse can leave the penis feeling sore, irritated, chafed and raw.
However the most frequently stated issue was age. Male skin tends to become drier with age so that older men often suffer from reduced sensitivity, elasticity and texture.
MensMax.com concluded its research saying the penis is subject to a ‘gauntlet of torture’ every day and that to restore it to health men should rub RestoreMax onto the shaft of their penis twice a day and always after sex.
Rise of intimate personal care
MensMax is not the only company to be specializing in intimate personal care products. At the HBA Global Expo this year in New York a conference session entitled ‘Personal care: The new intimacy’ was dedicated to the rise of the intimate in the industry.
Representatives from leaders in the niche such as Betty Beauty and Just Between Us discussed the growth of intimate beauty care, the semantic challenges and the difficulties faced in finding appropriate distribution channels.
