The product, SW-8005 C30, has been designed as a texture modifier, as well as to provide structure to products in stick form and to improve the intensity of color cosmetics.
According to the company this new advance in the field of silicon waxes broadens the formulators’ options.
“The broad combination of performance and sensory enhancement offers potential for novel personal care products that go beyond consumers expectations,” said Dow Corning’s Isabelle Van Reeth.
In addition Van Reeth highlighted the versatility of the ingredient, making it well suited to a number of different formulation types.
“Because of its excellent compatibility with organic oils, waxes, sunscreens and silicone elastomers, the new silicon resin wax can provide smoothness and distinctive textures. It is also responsible for improved coverage, color intensity and uniformity in color cosmetic formulations,” she added.
