The CosmeticsDesign editorial team will be attending the event, eyeing the stands for the latest trends and innovations.
The team will publish a series of articles from the event, highlighting the most important news, including the most innovative new products due to be unveiled.
Audio podcasts highlighting major trends and events
On top of that, the editorial team will also be broadcasting a series of audio podcsts, giving key industry figures a platform to air their opinions on challenges to the industry, trends and product innovations.
Although a recurring theme is expected to be how formulators can adapt to the more challenging economic conditions and the financial constraints that represents for costs, the event will mainly focus on a green theme, tying in with one of the most dominant trends in the industry – natural and organic products.
The ‘Innovate For A Greener World’ banner highlights some of the most recent innovations in the naturals segment, while underscoring the trends within the industry and the sort of ingredients that suppliers are launching in response.
2008 will be a tough act to follow
During the 2008 event, over 5,500 people attended the event at the Raritan Center in Edison, including a record number of cosmetic chemists, which was backed up by well over 500 stands, featuring exhibitors from all over the world.
This year the organizers are hoping to at least equal the attendance and exhibitor numbers achieved last year, although there is the hurdle of the current economic conditions to overcome, which many personal care companies say is curbing their travel and promotional expenditure.
This year’s event will again be held at the Raritan Center, with exhibitors setting up their stands on Monday May 11 and the doors to the show opening at 9 am, Tuesday May 11. The event will close its doors at 5pm on Wednesday May 13.
