Noveon reorganizes to concentrate on business development

Noveon, the consumer specialities division of Ohio-based Lubrizol, has reorganised its team leaders in an attempt to improve innovation and accelerate business development.

General manager for Noveon Consumer Specialties Tom Malafronte will remain at the helm, heading up six teams dedicated to supporting and growing the business.

Organizational shake-up

Business development, with a special focus on opportunities for mergers, acquisitions and alliances, will come under the direction of Annie Bourgeat.

The company has also created the new role of global strategic marketing director which will be taken by Julie Sephr.

This new position covers all market segments of Noveon Consumer Specialties and is an attempt to define and deliver new growth opportunities, products and new business development.

Surfactants will be headed up by David Kreckman and Mary Clarke will take on the hydrocolloids and pharmaceuticals sector.

Personal care and home care will still be under the leadership of Steve Semenczuk, and the sales, products and regional marketing and technical services teams of these two sectors will fall under his command.

Research and development will continue to be run by Chris Murphy who will be focusing on introducing technology ‘best practices’ across Noveon Consumer Specialities’ sectors.

In addition, Murphy will also head up the synthesis, polymer physics and applications teams.

Reorganization goals

According to the company the appointments and rearrangements will accelerate innovation and focus efforts on serving and growing existing business as well as scoping for new opportunities.

“We are confident that our new organization is well positioned for success and will deliver leading-edge solutions to customers,” said Tom Malafronte.
