Private label and social media are two of the topics covered in the educational program of this year's Cosmoprof North America, taking place on July 18-20 in Las Vegas.

The exhibitors at this year’s show include L’Oreal-owned Essie Cosmetics, Alberto Culver and HCT Packaging. According to the show organizers, more than 25,000 industry professionals – from manufacturers to distributers – visit the show.

This year, the show features an exhibition area of over 15,000 square meters across four pavilions that are organized according to product area. Cosmetics and Toiletries and Professional Hair, Nail Products & Tools are the two biggest exhibitor areas, followed by Wellness & Spa and Packaging, Contract Manufacturing & Private Label.

Cosmoprof educational program

A conference program will run alongside the show, featuring speakers from Euromonitor, ICMAD and L’Oreal Professional Products division amongst others.

The session entitled ‘Private Label Marketing and Packaging’ is designed to communicate to brand owners the best way to market private label offerings in a sector which is becoming increasingly larger and more sophisticated as consumers opt for cheaper cosmetics and personal care products.

Panelists in the session will discuss successful and unsuccessful past strategies, and explore what is the best way to launch into this market.

A social media seminar will discuss this increasingly important marketing tool by exploring up and coming trends in mobile marketing, online consumer communities and social media channels.

Also on the agenda is a CEO summit moderated by chief spokesperson for Redken, Ann Mincey. The summit will feature executives from L’Oreal, Zotos International, CND and Scruples, who will discuss the current state of the beauty industry in the light of difficult economic trading conditions that have been, and continue to be, experienced by many.

Special Events

The three day event kicks off with a ‘Get Together Party’, open to both exhibitors and visitors, which the organizers say provides an ideal opportunity to establish new business contacts or strengthen existing relationships.

Other special events taking place include an ICMAD (Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors Association) legislative update, which will review the year in cosmetics legislation, and the North American Hairstyling Awards.

More information about the event can be found at the Cosmoprof North America.
