Insightful Industry Leaders Panel held for the first time at HBA Global Expo

Health and Beauty America will launch the first-ever Industry Leaders Panel as part of this year’s HBA Marketing and Technical Conference – focusing on opportunities to create and shape the future of the industry.

It will be the first time five leading executives in the personal care industry will lend their business minds to discuss the issues and pathways that will define the industry in the coming year.

Panel discussion

The panel has been specifically selected by Meyer Rosen, president at Interactive Consulting and chief scientific advisor & director of technical programming at HBA. The reason behind his choice is the great change in the economic world, and the resulting scrutiny the personal care industry is placing on product development.

“I designed the leadership panel by selecting those who set directions for their own products, to inform the industry of the best strategic direction. Each president has been carefully selected as they each represent five different viewpoints on the industry” Rosen explained.

Carefully selected panelists

The selected panelists are Christian Bardin, president, CBA Associates; Craig Frischling, president, Lipo Chemicals; Kevin Gallacher, president, Croda; John Van Hulle, president, Global Color Additives and Inks, PolyOne; and Karen Young, CEO, The Young Group.

The panel aims to give expert discussion on plastics packaging, ingredient supply, hair and skin care, as well as the passage smaller companies can take in order to further develop their products and become successful in the industry.

"The ‘Insights From The Top’ panel provides an incomparable experience that will give attendees the tools to combine science, cutting-edge ingredients, and current trends in the development of effective and successful new products," said Rebecca Fraimow, Education Program Specialist, HBA Global Expo & Conference.

Product development issues

Combining aesthetic demands with science and the ever-increasing demand for natural ingredients have proved a problem for those involved in product development, as has the shift in consumer demographics.

Product development has also been hindered by strict regulations, particularly with regards to ingredients, and the varying regulations depending on geography. Rosen believes the panel discussion will deal with finding ingredients that are ‘regulation friendly’ and the changes currently taking place in the market.

The Industry Leaders Panel will be moderated by Tom Harris from Cosmetic & Toiletries Magazine, who was also personally selected by Meyer Rosen, with a view to giving a thorough insight into the discussion whilst remaining ‘press-neutral.’

The panel discussion is entitled “Insights from the Top: Looking Ahead to Innovation and Growth Challenges” and will commence on Wednesday 29, from 9:00am – 10:30am at New York’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
