Virgo Publishing, which produces the Supply Side shows, will run the event targeting industry executives from dietary supplement, food and beverage, and cosmeceutical companies worldwide.
Within the Cosmeceutical track of the education program, there will be ten sessions, focusing on the key issues. Virgo Publishing told CosmeticsDesign.com USA this would center on beauty from within, niche markets, EU regulations, up-and-coming ingredients and sustainability.
The debate over high-tech skincare versus medicine will also be covered in the program as will the latest nutricosmetic trends.
Addressing challenges
One of the biggest challenges facing all industries is the changing economy; an issue that will be addressed at this year’s trade show.
“For industry-specific challenges, the newness of the ‘cosmeceutical’ industry means that everyone is still trying to figure out where the market is going. Is it beauty-from-within? Is it about ‘natural’ or ‘organic’ or ‘sustainable’?” Virgo Publishing told CosmeticsDesign.com USA.
The focus, particularly from a cosmetics standpoint, is the search for innovative ingredients and technologies that are both natural and healthy, and where these can be found.
One of the highlights of the Cosmeceuticals program will be Alban Muller’s Evelyne Bismuth, PharmD. The presentation will discuss creative new ways to improve cosmetic products’ eco-conscious practices, which will lead to further discussion of sourcing ingredients, packaging and sustainability.
Relevant topics
Following on from the 2009 event, regulations will be another big feature given the drastic changes globally, and the shifts in EU compliance. Supply Side West will also address several new topics, in particular new natural ingredients and tailored personal care products.
“It is absolutely crucial to have the latest, most relevant information in order to succeed in today’s challenging business and competitive environment,” continued Virgo.
The Supply Side West event will be held at The Venetian & The Sands Expo, Las Vegas, on October 19-23, 2010.
