Caswell-Massey inks deal with couture soap brand

Personal care retailer Caswell-Massey has joined forces with soap brand Gianna Rose Atelier with the view of expanding and developing new collections for Q1 next year.

The American retailer will assume all responsibility for the manufacturing and distribution of the Gianna Rose products.

CosmeticsDesign.com USA spoke with Caswell-Massey COO, Anthony Nichtawicz, and Blair Buckley Salon, creative director of Gianna Rose, to get their views on the partnership.

Nichtawicz stated his satisfaction that the partnership had now been cemented, given the previous success of the Gianna Rose products, seen firsthand by Caswell-Massey.

“Caswell-Massey has offered Gianna Rose products to our customers for five years so we were very aware of the strong appeal of the unique, whimsical designs and beautiful presentation of the brand. When the opportunity was presented to collaborate more closely, we were delighted,” he said.

He explained that the new structure is a very synergistic fit for both companies; as Caswell-Massey has the operational and sales organizations to support the Gianna Rose brand, whilst Gianna Rose brings strong luxury retail distribution in multiple doors of interest to Caswell-Massey.

Buckley Salon stated: “We are thrilled about the partnership, it allows us to leverage Caswell-Massey’s strong logistical and sales support capabilities so we can concentrate on our strengths: design and innovation.”

Focus on the future

Buckley Salon continued to explain that with the expanded collaboration with Caswell-Massey, Gianna Rose would be able to focus its design team on the developing and crafting of the next Gianna Rose collections for the Spring/Summer 2011 season.

Gianna Rose soaps use only vegetable-based triple milled soap, that feature botanical extracts and nurturing emollients, as well as hallmark scents that are developed by expert perfumers, according to the company.

Caswell-Massey has recently launched an all-natural luxury collection of soaps, lotions and gels that are currently being rolled out in all Neiman Marcus and other Gianna Rose retailers and Nichtawicz said this has allowed the management teams to be very efficient.
