Organic almond oil now available from sustainable and secure supply

A sustainable and dependable supply of sweet organic almond oil is now available from growers in California, according to ingredients supplier New Organics.

The sustainable supply of sweet organic almond oil has in the past suffered lengthy gaps, where production has not been able to meet demand, the company explained.

Through direct partnerships with growers in California, the organic ingredients supplier claims it has been able to assure a consistent source of the oil.

Long term supplier partnerships

“New Organics is working directly with organic almond growers on the long term development of organic almond oil as an ingredient in organic cosmetics,” Gay Timmons from Oh, Oh Organic, New Organic’s representative, told CosmeticsDesign.com USA.

The company can supply both unrefined and refined oil, and the latter has also been winterized, which removes the waxes leaving the oil clear, she explained.

According to Timmons, the market for the ingredient is expected to be ‘vibrant’. “Almond oil is wonderful for the skin and used broadly for massage,” she said.

It can be incorporated into personal care and cosmetics products for its skin soothing and softening properties, as well as for the treatment of dry skin and the relief of skin irritation.

Timmons explained that the company will be working with personal care manufacturers to anticipate and supply their needs for the ingredient.
