US packaging company Tricorbraun has bought manufacturer and distributor of rigid packaging Penn Bottle in an aim to increase its presence in new markets.

The Missouri-headquartered company provides packaging for the personal care, cosmetics and household products markets, as well as food and beverage products.

Penn Bottle also serves the personal care, household and pharmaceutical sectors with plastic, glass and metal packaging and closures.

Extend geographical presence

According to the CEO of TricorBraun, Keith J.Strope, the acquisition will help it to increase its presence in the East.

“The combination of Penn Bottle’s presence in the East with out current business there significantly strengthens our position in that geography,” he said.

“Together, we will provide our customers an even greater array of packaging options designed and engineered to deliver success in their markets,” he added.

For Penn Bottle, previously a family-owned and run business, the acquisition by TricorBraun will mean access to greater resources.

“This is a huge opportunity,” said Penn Bottle CEO Rich Probinsky.

“We’re excited about the additional options and resources that will be available to our customers and personnel as we join the TricorBraun team,” he added.
