Although the regulation is currently only in place in Switzerland, according to industry insiders it is expected to be adopted in wider geographical regions, affecting any supplier of such products looking to target the European market.
At the recent PCD Congress held in Paris, France last week, CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com spoke to Dr Philippe Kern, head of Materialscience and Development at the Swiss tube manufacturer Neopac to find out more about this regulation.
According to Kern, the regulation limits the use of certain photo initiators and monomers that the UV-cured system relies on, as some have suspected carcinogenic effects.
