Sustainable Fragrances 2011 lines up key speakers from CPL Aromas and Aveda
Now entering into its third year, the conference is set to take place from 9-10 June in Arlington, Virginia. It will feature a number of presentations from key speakers as well as interactive panel discussions.
"Sustainable Fragrances 2011 provides a meeting point for the wide variety of sectors that comprise the sustainable fragrance industry to network and gather to discuss topics like ingredients and raw materials, formulation and production, legislation and regulation, and testing," said Christine Groff, IntertechPira’s conference director.
The conference will be chaired by the executive director of IFRA North America, Jennifer Abril, alongside Ladd Smith, the President of the Research Institute for Fragrance Materials, RFIM.
Pre-conference workshop on green chemistry
A pre-conference workshop is set to take place on the morning of June 9, which will explore issues relating to green chemistry and green engineering and how these processes can be applied to the chemicals, personal care and formulation sector.
The first day of the conference is set to include a speech delivered by the vice president of Dr Bronner’s Magic Soaps, Michael Bronner, tackling issues related to becoming a fairtrade body care brand.
This will be followed by a presentation from Aveda perfumer Guy Vincent examining humanitarian and environmental considerations in natural ingredient sustainability.
Tim Whiteley, the global R&D director at CPL Aromas, will deliver a presentation during the second day of the conference on 10 June that will explore the challenges and opportunities relating to natural and organic fragrances.
According to IntertechPira, the 2010 edition of event was attended by over 100 professionals, including representatives from a variety of big industry names such as L’Oreal, Chanel and Colgate-Palmolive.
