The latest innovation from firm is the Ellips Triball tube, which is a 50mm diameter tube with three rollerballs in stainless steel or plastic on the cap.
The applicator tube is dedicated to targeted formulas due to the massage tool on the cap, which Albea says also improves formula efficiency.
“This innovative tube applicator, with its smart distribution system, really brings a real added value providing a new experience for the consumer in terms of formula application, which is more pleasant and more efficient,” Olivier De-Saignes, Albéa operational marketing director told CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com.
The three rollerballs permit a massaging and cooling effect while applying the product, as well as helping the formula penetrate quickly and effectively into the target area for maximum benefit.
Clinically proven
According to De-Saignes, the applicator has been clinically shown to boost microcirculation.
“The Ellips Triball tube is particularly adapted to formulas such as slimming, shaping and tightening, muscle conditioning, soothing and healing treatments. This tube also fits for anti-stretch mark care and body moisturisers,” he continued.
Albea has already created packaging with stainless steel rollerballs, notably the Artist Roll’on tube and Triball.
However, until now these packs were only available for face care products, with the Ellips Triball model becoming the first to be targeted at body care.
The new tube is equipped with an on/off system that allows the consumer to open and close the distribution of the formula by turning the tube's head. This system provides a controlled dispensing and a massaging action without substantially wasting the formula.
The French firm is also keen to point out its elliptical shape, which it believes to be the best tube design for a wider communication surface on stores' shelves.
Customers will be provided with Albea’s finishing and printing technologies in order to customise the tube, including direct print technology, removing the need for labels.
