Airless pack takes an oval form in latest Quadpack tube
The oval airless tube is made of polyethylene (PE), with a 35mm diameter, and is available with one, three or five layers.
It has a powerful Check Valve (CV) pump which the company says prevents loss of pressure and comes with a matching polyethylene terepthalate glycol (PETG) overcap.
The curved actuator is specifically designed to allow consumers to dispense the correct amount each time, claiming an accuracy of +/- 0.03ml per stroke.
Ideal for high value products
Airless technology protects the integrity of the formula, making it perfect for organic products or high-value cosmetics.
The Quadpack Group claims that multiple decoration options, such as silk screening, hot stamping and offset printing, allow creative teams to make the most of the distinctive shape of the pack. Moreover, front and back decoration can be done in a single pass, cutting down on production costs.
“This elegant shape offers a larger print view area and, in the case of the tubes, sits flat for easy storage in handbags or purses,” the packaging firm said.
The latest oval packs also come in a non-airless option; an oval dip tube bottle.
The oval dip-tube bottle has the same pump, actuator and cap as the airless tube, but with a non-airless dip-tube CV snap-on pump. Available in capacities of 30 and 50ml, the PETG bottle can also be silk screened and hot stamped.
Airless concealers previously launched
Korean-based Yonwoo has also produced airless concealer packs, launched last month, which are designed for two–part cosmetics such as foundation with concealer.
The packs have a flip–top cap with an optional mirror, doubling as a container. The cap either snaps or screws off to reveal the second product.
The dual jumbo jar has a single moulded cap containing the concealer, with a capacity of 4ml, which fits both polypropylene jumbo jars (30 – 200ml) and the jumbo jar bulge range (30 and 50ml). The foundation is kept in the airless jar, which prevents contact with air for a long–lasting product.
The dual concealer tube, which fits 30mm as well as 35mm diameter tubes, is available in polyethylene with 1, 3 or 5 layers. It is also available as a Luxefoil tube for sensitive formulas, which has an inner aluminium layer acting as a barrier to light, gas and steam in order to protect it from light and oxygen sensitive formulas.
