Des McEttrick, market development director, NA Beauty told CosmeticsDesign.com USA that winning the award will add further credibility to Aptar Beauty and Home’s sustainability efforts and could help to attract new customers and boost revenues.
“It is an honor to win and we believe that the external recognition for the package is a tremendous reward in itself. We feel that we will get exposure beyond what we would normally have received and this could create opportunities to increase our sales and expand our customer base,” he said.
Particularly adapted to organic cosmetics
The Eden all plastic airless dispenser is particularly adapted to organic cosmetics formulations according to Aptar, as it offers protection for formulas with few preservatives and is manufactured from PP and PE, which are on the positive Ecocert material list. Additionally, the dispenser can be recycled wherever mixed plastics are recycled.
The leak-proof airless pump is available in various sizes and has two actuator options, and is claimed to have a performance comparable to the most sophisticated airless systems, with its soft actuation making the dispensing of products and elimination of product waste easier as well as ensuring precise dosage.
“This pump was designed for the mass market and was also made with fewer components which helps sustainability but also allows for competitive pricing. Further, Eden has a wide barrel design for fast filling,” McEttrick said.
DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation enters 23rd year
The DuPont Awards for Packaging Innovation, which are now in their 23rd year, award diamond, gold or silver honors based on excellence ratings in one or more of the following categories: Innovation, Sustainability and Cost and Waste Reduction.
According to Shanna Moore, global director of sustainable packaging at DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers, the awards celebrate how collaborating throughout the value chain can bring cost-effective innovation to the market to help solve complex global challenges.
“The nominees and winners this year show how sustainability considerations are driving innovation. We see how sustainability takes many shapes – ranging from use of organic or renewably sourced materials to the relentless drive to reduce waste and weight,” she said.
