Andrew Durieux, a crisis management expert based in Thailand will now be delivering two presentations at the event next month, in which he assesses the impact of the floods on the industry and how companies can recover and even forge new opportunities.
The first session will run from 10:30am to 11am on 16th December and is entitled ‘Impact of the flood on Thailand and the Thai cosmetic industry’, and will provide an overview of the specific impact the disaster has had on the sector and how industry players are recovering from it.
The second session will take place on the same day between 11:30am and 12:45pm and is entitled ‘How can the cosmetic industry players manage future floods and other natural disasters’.
Focus on the supply chain
Durieux will focus on providing conference attendees with information on how the supply chain has been affected by the disaster and how this has been rectified, while also providing insight on minimizing risk from this sort of situation in the future.
As well as helping companies by giving them an overview of the specific situation in Thailand, it will also give a good angle on how to deal with crisis and emergency situations in general.
“During my session at in-cosmetics Asia, I’ll be examining the importance of planning and flexibility in the recovery process, as well as advising businesses on the best strategies and tactics to employ during times of crisis,” said Durieux, founder and Principle Consultant of Coverage.
“My aim is to illustrate to owners and managers exactly how opportunities can be created, as the companies who recover the quickest will inevitably be the first to win business once things are returned to normal.”
Rescheduling the event because of floods
In-cosmetics Asia had to be rescheduled earlier this month, with just one week to go, as flood waters encroached on the Thai capital, Bangkok, threatening the Northern part of the city and its domestic airport.
The event, which is one of the biggest in the calendar for the Asian cosmetic and personal care industry, was due to take place next week, at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre, between the 2nd and 4th of November.
As a consequence, in-cosmetics Asia will now be held at the same location, but six weeks later, from December 14 – 16.
