A raft of exhibitors including BASF, Croda and Evonik will be present at the show, which takes place from 15-16th May at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition center in Edison, New Jersey.
Botaneco launching two skin care ingredients
Canada-based ingredients supplier Botaneco and its subsidiary Natunola will be launching two new ingredients that are primarily destined for skin care formulations, including anti-aging, facial skin care and body care products.
Vegelatum Omega 3, a flax seed oil rich in omega 3, is delivered in a patented vegetable gel and provides enhanced stability and shelf life according to Botaneco. The HydrePure Retinol ingredient is pure retinol encapsulated inside Oleosomes for delivery to the skin via delayed release, and is claimed to offer better stability and less irritation.
New launches from Induchem
Elsewhere at the event, Induchem, a specialist in active ingredients and carrier systems, is launching its Rubixyl ingredient and RUBI (Receptors Uphold against Bioaging) technology. According to the company, Rubixyl acts on skin receptors necessary to maintain youthful skin, which it claims makes it possible for ‘mature skins to recover their initial youth’.
A double-blind clinical test of Rubixyl versus a placebo was carried out on a panel of women between the ages of 40 and 65, half of whom were smokers. After 15 days, said Induchem, the skin treated with Rubixyl appeared to be smoother, younger and more hydrated, with a visible reduction in deep wrinkles.
Also at Suppliers’ Day, Induchem is unveiling its Unishapes innovation. These 3D shapes such as hearts, stars and flowers are the result of a new three-dimensional printing process. According to the company, they preserve their volume within a formula and do not affect the sensorial properties of the product during its use.
Gattefossé introducing new active to US market
Meanwhile, Gattefossé’s booth will play host to its Perfect Complexion Showcase, where nine prototypes designed to improve the skin’s complexion and appearance will be highlighted. The company has also chosen Suppliers’ Day as the launch platform for Gatuline Radiance in the US, its new anti-ageing active inspired by traditional Chinese Medicine.
The ingredient is a fruit active from the Evodia rutaecarpa shrub that grows in Asia and is claimed to boost the skin’s microcirculation, improving brightness and luminosity while helping to maintain an even skin tone. It is suitable for use in a variety of applications, the company says, including facial skin care, color cosmetics and hair care.
