People On The Move: Avon, Lubrizol and CCA appointments

The latest People On The Move is highlighted by the appointment of Cheryl Heinonen as group vice president of global corporate relations, together with key new positions at CCA Industries and Lubrizol.

Heinonen took up her new position at the beginning of this month and will report to Sheri McCoy, Avon’s newly appointment CEO, tying in with some major reshuffling amongst the company’s top executives following the recent exit of former CEO Andrea Jung.

"As we work to stabilize, turn around and, ultimately, grow Avon, our ability to communicate effectively, both internally and externally, is critical. Cheryl's strong leadership is a welcome addition to my management team,"​ said Ms. McCoy.

"Her experience in women's economic issues in our key markets will also bring a fresh perspective to this critical aspect of building our business."

Heinonen has experience managing some of the world’s top consumer brands, focusing on areas such as reputation management, CSR, organizational communications, consumer branding and international public affairs.

Lubrizol appoints new head of personal care R&D

 Meanwhile, Lubrizol has made a key appointment to its personal and home care division, by announcing that Dorina Ghirardi will become the division’s new R&D director.

The company says that the role will see her focuso on providing technologies that deliver valued solutions for customer needs, in turn being responsible for the group's alignment and for directing the R&D function for the business in the areas of synthesis, applications, new product development and technical service.

Ghirardi has been with Lubrizol since 1998 in the role of technical service manager for the Europe, Middle East and Africa market, and has 25 years technical industry experience specific to the personal care industry.

CCA Industries appoints new director

Finally, health and beauty aids manufacturer CCA Industries has announced that its director Jonathan Rothschild has resigned and that James Mastrian has been appointed to fill in the rest of his remaining term in the position.

Rothschild is the CEO and president of Arterio, a vitamin supplement business, as well as being director of bitotechnology business Immucell and not-for-profit organization Anne Franch Center, USA.

Rothschild is also a major shareholder in CCA Industries, and currently holds approximately 220,000 shares in the business.
