At the end of last year, global personal care player Unilever announced that it was ending the inclusion of plastic microbeads in its formulations, in view of growing environmental concerns that the ingredients is polluting waterways and marine eco systems.
The news has sparked a faster industry-wide drive to move away from the use of the ingredients, causing many formulators to look for environmentally-friendly alternatives.
Delaware based Impact Colors says that it offers two natural solutions to that can be used as effective exfoliators that feature the active ingredients of rice and bamboo.
Rice and bamboo exfoliation
Rice Exfoliators Vision Beads and Bamboo Exfoliator Vision Beads are marketed by the company has being entirely natural and biodegradable alternatives.
The company says that the two ingredients work at the cellular level to naturally restore skin’s health by sloughing off the skin’s upper level of skin cells, often removing dead cells and impurities.
On top of this, the manufacturer also claims that the deep cleansing action also serves to protect and moisturize the skin, which is claimed to give more desirable results compared to conventional exfoliators, which are often abrasive and can cause damage.
Also available in a range of colors
The range of exfoliators is also available in a wide selection of colors, designed to give formulations added impact, including red, yellow, green, and blue, to black, white, and silver tones.
