IMCD acquires Chemimpo
The integration of the two companies in South Africa will take place throughout 2013 and will establish IMCD South Africa as the leading speciality chemical company in Sub-Saharan Africa. The combined operation will have approximately 90 employees.
Commenting on the deal, Piet van der Slikke, CEO of Rotterdam-based IMCD said: "We are delighted to welcome such a well-respected distributor to the Group. Meanwhile Otto Brinkmann, Chemimpo's managing director, who will head up the combined operation said; "We are all excited with this change as it significantly increases our customer base, laboratory presence and sales personnel, delivering exhaustive market penetration."
