Biosil targets North American active ingredients expansion

Fine chemicals provider Biosil Technologies is targeting expansion into the North American market after securing a distribution deal that will see its portfolio of active ingredients expanded into the Canada market.

“This strategic partnership will broaden Azelis’s specialty product portfolio and expand Biosil’s marketing efforts in Canada,” said Biosil’s director of sales, Philip Chung.

“It will give Biosil a strong presence in the region with technical sales and marketing support and local warehousing.”

Moving beyond the European market

The Britain-based company, which markets a range of specialty ingredients for the personal care sector, as well as the pharma and food sectors, has traditionally been focused on the pan European market.

Likewise, it is also starting to expand its presence in the active ingredients markets for cosmetic and personal care products, having traditionally had a focus on moulded silicone products for applications in the pharmaceutical and health care sectors.

Following the announcement that it has signed a deal with chemical distribution company Azelis, the partnership is now aiming to tap into the distributor’s extensive and established network in Canada.

Silicone complexes and marine derived actives

However, on the back of increasing demand for naturally derived products, the company wishes to tap into international interest in its range of specialty silicone complexes and marine derived actives.

“We very much look forward to working with such a quality supplier as Biosil whose unique and innovative product range meets our customer’s and today’s consumers needs,” said Tony Craske, managing director for Azelis Canada.

“These effective ingredients, coupled with Azelis and Biosil’s formulation expertise and application advice, will most certainly contribute to the continued success of our personal care customers.”
