Momentive to launch two ready-to-use silicone formulations at in-cosmetics

Both formulations are paraben-free and can be used for a wide variety of skin care applications, Momentive says. The company highlights that by opting for the ready-to-use formulations, formulators can save time and cut out additional steps associated with working with a number of individual ingredients.

 “By providing a blend of our premium ingredients in both Velvesil Mul-T gel and Silsoft E-Pearl PF emulsion, we can offer formulators multiple benefits for a huge array of applications, all rolled into single products, thereby creating synergies,”​ said David Cohon, Momentive Performance Materials’ global marketing director for personal care.

Velvesil Mul-T gel​

According to Momentive, the highly-versatile Velvesil Mul-T gel is a starting point for a wide range of multi-claim formulations, such as color cosmetics including BB and CC creams, skin care including anti-aging formulations and anhydrous products including serums and concealer sticks.

The company says that Velvesil Mul-T gel ‘combines the potent, translucent soft-focus ability of boron nitride with the powdery, velvety touch of patented Velvesil chemistry,’ and can be combined with additional ingredients quickly and easily.

Furthermore, Momentive claims that the silicone composition of the formulation means it can provide products with a luxurious feel, as well as helping to enhance natural-looking coverage and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Silsoft E-Pearl PF Emulsion​

Meanwhile, the patented Silsoft E-Pearl PF emulsion is billed as a formulation that can provide the ‘extra something’ at the end of a formulation process, whether this be enhancing product feel or improving the claims that can make a product new and improved.

Momentive notes that the attributes of the formulation, which it says provides skin-brightening and line blurring benefits, a hydrating feel and an excellent sensory experience, are not commonly assembled within one formulation.

Products in which Silsoft E-Pearl PF emulsion can be used include sun care products, skin care including anti-aging formulations, masks and toners and color cosmetics such as concealer and foundation.
