L’Oréal Luxe and Stella McCartney to go their separate ways

YSL Beauty, which has been part of L’Oréal Luxe for over four years, has made the mutual decision not to renew its license agreement with Stella McCartney.

L’Oréal Luxe acquired the license for Stella McCartney’s fragrance and beauty lines as part of the deal in 2008 which saw it acquire YSL Beauty from French fashion and retail group PPR.

However, when the current license agreement is up on September 12, 2013, the two companies will go their separate ways.

As a result of the mutual decision, L'Oréal will focus on concentrating on its other brands while Stella McCartney will pursue its fragrance and beauty business.
