This year the third US event opens its doors for two days – September 25th and 26th at a brand new location Center 548 on West 22nd Street, in New York City.
And according to the event organizers, a combination of a bigger venue, together with the fact that pre-registrations for the event are already up by 15 percent compared to the same time last year, means that this year is expected to be the biggest to date.
More exhibitors and an extended conference program
As well as the bigger footfall, visitors will also have twice as many exhibitors stands to visit this year, together with the largest ever conference program that will including 12 conferences and a total of 30 speakers.
Likewise, the floor will not only include a larger number of exhibitors, it will also have 14 organized demonstrations, showing the latest in color cosmetic packaging and associated innovations.
To cap it off, the event will also include an evening networking event organized by the Cosmetic Industry Buyers and Suppliers Association, which will take the form of a gala event during the evening of September 25th.
Look out for eye make-up and products containing SPF
Two of the biggest trends that are expected to be well represented at the event are the fast growing categories for eye-focused products, as well as make-up that is formulated with SPF.
Despite the global economic downturn affecting some of the principle categories in the cosmetics and personal care industry, worldwide, there has been a steady increase in sales of traditional eye make-up products such as mascara, together with eye pencils and eye shadows, even in the hard hit markets of Europe.
Another driving force in make-up has been sales of predominantly high-end products such as foundations, and increasingly BB and CC creams that incorporate sophisticated sunscreens into the formulations.
Both of these trends have dictated increasingly advanced packaging solutions that serve to product the often volatile and delicate formulations, as well as lending them shelf appeal.
