SCC Midwest prepares for 2014 edition of Teamworks
Organized by SCC Midwest, the Midwest chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, the event is being held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont and is aimed at chemists, chemical buyers, engineers and technologists.
Cosmetics ingredients suppliers Croda, Seppic, and Induchem are among the more than 100 exhibitors taking part, while attendees are set to include representatives from big-name players such as L’Oreal and Kimberly-Clark.
Technical symposium
Prior to the exhibit time, a half-day technical symposium highlighting the latest product launches has been organised. Entitled ‘Meeting market demand: New advances in skin and hair care’, the symposium comprises a poster session, keynote speech, five presentations and a round table discussion.
Among the speakers delivering presentations are representatives from Kobo Products and The Hallstar Company, who will be discussing non-nano composite powder and photoprotection by stabilization respectively.
Fabrice LeFevre of Induchem will deliver a presentation entitled ‘Bio-renewable energy to reactivate collagen I & III and elastin synthesis in skin’, while Domenico Palella of Lipotec will present ‘A Novel Approach for the Treatment and Care of Sensitive Skin’.
Networking opportunities
SCC Midwest highlights that education, innovation and networking will be key focal points during Teamworks 2014. In addition to the technical symposium, technology exchanges will take place during the exhibition and networking opportunities will be plentiful, the organizers say.
As well as the buffet luncheon on the day itself, there is also a social night during the evening prior to the event, taking place at Chicago’s first German micro-brewery and beer hall, Hofbrauhaus Chicago.
